Academics: Support Services

Services are provided to the French International School of Philadelphia by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania through the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit (MCIU).

Montgomery County Intermediate Unit Services

These services include psychological testing and some instructional services, including speech therapy, remedial instruction and counseling. A school psychologist, a speech therapist, a math and English specialist and a counselor have been assigned to our school by the MCIU.

Health

The French International School of Philadelphia follows the regulations of the Pennsylvania Department of Health. We have a nurse on staff who supervises and updates our students' health records and ensures that all necessary forms are completed at the beginning of each school year. The parents of all new students must provide the school with a physical examination form and complete vaccination records before July 31. Once a year, a nurse assigned by the Lower Merion School District comes to the school to record height and weight and check vision and hearing for all students from kindergarten through grade eight. The Lower Merion School District also assigns the school a dental hygienist who checks all students' records in a similar fashion.
